Important Notices:

- This fanfiction story takes place in 2011. So future games are not included here. (There are a few, but not many)
- This fanfiction is completely fan-made, and they're based on canon Nintendo games such as Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda: 'Majora's Mask', etc. And it never actually happened. I repeat, just fan-made.
- A remake has been developed and had some notable changes between the original and 3D version, so I have to adjust and adapt my story. Unfortunately, the changes are just too ridiculously many and have many pros and cons! So I just give you the link so you can see it for yourself. But for certain the boss battles will definitely be like the 3D versions, they are pretty cool.
- Characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Fox McCloud, Samus Aran, Megaman or Donkey Kong will NOT appear in the fanfiction for it's only a crossover about the Super Mario Universe and Legend of Zelda: 'Majora's Mask'.
- There are no fan-characters in this fanfiction except characters such as Toads or Dry Bones, etc. who didn't had names in the games but will be named in this fanfic.
- You must have played or at least have knowledge about the games of Mario since 1981 and the game Legend of Zelda: 'Majora's Mask'. But worry not, I will try answer every question you might ask during the fanfictions. Note me for questions!

Previously Mario was on his way to Peach's Castle when he suddenly found a strange violin which was glowing. It sent Mario to a different location after touching it. And then he falls and lands on the legendary hero of Hyrule; Young Link. The two became unconscious and were robbed by a Skull Kid who wore a strange mask. Our heroes chased the Skull Kid but managed to escape, now Mario and Young Link have to work together to chase down Skull Kid. As they hurrying to the next section they'll meet a terrible fate.

*Catacombs*

Young Link lands on a big flower-like formation. Mario land on the puddle of water next to it...ouch. Though he survived it gladly.

Young Link: "Whoa, what just happened?"

Mario: "I only wanted some cake."

Suddenly a bright light flashed at them. And in the middle was Skull Kid, levitating in the air together with the two fairies.

Skull Kid: "What's with that stupid horse of yours?! It doesn't listen to a word that's said to it..."

Young Link: "You, what did you do to my horse Epona, and while you're at it, give me back my ocarina!"

Skull Kid: There's no point in riding that thing like that. So I did you a favor and got rid of it...Hee, hee..."

Young Link: "You did...what?!"

Mario: "What!? Why you despicable creature! Give us back our stuff!! Before I really get angry!!"

Young Link became sad for a while.

Skull Kid: "Aww, boo-hoo. Why that sad face!? I just thought I'd have a little fun with you..."

Young Link: *Grabs his weapons* "Why you...."

Mario: *Creates a fireball* "That does it! I've warned you long enough!!"

Young Link: *Wields the Kokiri Sword and Hero's Shield* "You're gonna regret this, you jerk!!!"

Mario: *Holding a fireball* "Give us back our stuff, this is your final warning, I hate to do it this way though!!!"

The Skull Kid wasn't intimidated at all.

Skull Kid: "Oh come now...Do you really think you can beat me as I am now? FOOLS!!!"

The Skull Kids shakes his mask and emits a dark aura towards Mario and Young Link. They suffered a strange feeling like one one else has ever experienced with. Mario and Young Link are starting to have some illusions, there were Deku Scrubs everywhere.

Mario: "Whoa, what's-a all this!!"

Young Link: "Argh, I don't feel so good."

They ran away from it and suffered even more, then a giant Deku Scrub chases and gaining on them. The next moment their appearance has completely changed, like they were transformed. They looked down at the reflection of the puddle and saw something really shocking.

Mario and Young Link: "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

Young Link: "We..we..we....we are DEKU SCRUBS!!!

Deku Mario: "Mama-mia, we are WHAT!!??"

The Skull Kid has changed them into Deku Scrubs by the mysterious power of his mask. Small forest creatures with orange thermal eyes, with clothing-like leaves worn about their bodies, and foliage-like hair that spit Deku Nuts to their enemies, when threaten.

Skull Kid: "Hee hee! Now, that's a good look for you! You'll stay here looking like that forever!"

And then he escapes through a wooden door.

Deku Mario: "Mama-mia! I-I look like a brown, wooden Snifit!"

Deku Link: "Heeey!! You can't do that, get back here!"

While Deku Mario also sees Skull Kid getting away and rushes to him with Deku Link.

Deku Mario: "You filthy, little brat!"

But they were stopped by the bright yellow fairy. The Skull Kid managed to escape along with Tael, but left the bright yellow fairy behind.

Tael shouted before the door closes: "S-s-sis!!!"

Then the door closes. The bright yellow fairy heard her brother and noticed that they were gone.

Yellow Fairy: "Tael! Whoa! Whoa, Skull Kid, wait for me, I'm still here!!! Tael, you can't leave without me!!!"

She tries to open the door but it was pointless. Then she blames the duo for getting separated from her brother.

Yellow Fairy: "You!!!"

Deku Link: "What?!"

Deku Mario: "Huh!"

Yellow Fairy: "If I wasn't dealing with you morons, I wouldn't have gotten separated from my brother!"

Deku Link: "E-excuse me?!"

Deku Mario: "......"

Yellow Fairy: W-well don't just stand there, Deku boys. Do something!!"

Deku Mario, Deku Link: *Staring at her with disgust*

Yellow Fairy: "Why are you looking at me like that? What, is there something stuck on my face? Will you guys stop staring at me and just open the door for me?!?"

Deku Link: "You just hit us and now we have to help YOU?! Where did you learn your manners?!"

Deku Mario: Yeah, We didn't do anything-a to you! Besides, your friend took-a our stuff and turned us into wooden Snifits!"

Deku Link: "Gesundheit, but we're Deku Scrubs, mister."

Yellow Fairy: "Yeah, what are you, stupid?!"

Deku Mario: "Such-a rudeness, do you expect me to help you when you're like that, little fairy? It's your-a fault!"

Yellow Fairy: "Please!!! C'mon, a helpless little girl is asking you...So hurry up!"

Deku Link: "And impatient too, huh? Now you can just forget it, I was gonna help you but never mind! *Crossing his arms*

Deku Mario: *Crosses his arms too* "Hmpf!"

Yellow Fairy: "Pleeeaassse.......pretty please...my younger brother is still out there alone with the Skull Kid..."

Deku Mario: "GASP...y-your younger brother, you mean that purple fairy is your younger brother?"

Yellow Fairy: "Yes, yes that's correct! I can't just leave him alone like that, he's still dependent and he's..."

Deku Mario: "That's enough, I'll help you out-a finding your brother."

Deku Link: "W-What!? But she's the enemy, mister!"

Deku Mario: "She's also an acquaintance of that thief! And furthermore, I can't leave her here while she's-a responsible for her little brother."

Deku Link: "Oh, good point however, I don't trust her though."

Deku Mario: "Me neither, but now we have no choice. Besides, she's not the only one who has a younger brother..."

Yellow Fairy: "Oh thank you, sir! Now lets hurry, okay? *Thinking* Oh, so this guy has a little brother too. Maybe that's why he changed his mind so fast."

Deku Link: "Ugh, okay then..."

Deku Mario: *In an unhappy way* "Lets-a go."

Yellow Fairy: "Ohhhh, Tael...I wonder if that child will be all right on his own."

So Deku Mario and Deku Link opens the wooden door and keep walking. They appear to be in some kind of underground forest.

Yellow Fairy: "Hey, wait for me! Don't leave me behind!"

Deku Mario, Deku Link: "Whoa!"

Yellow Fairy: "So um...that stuff back there...I...um...apologize, so...So take me with you!"

Deku Mario: "Apology accepted, little Star Sprite."

Deku Link, Yellow Fairy: "Huh, Star Sprite?"

Deku Mario: "What?"

Deku Link: She's not a Star Spite or something, she's just a fairy."

Yellow Fairy: "Yeah, don't you know?"

Deku Mario: "Well-a no. I've actually never seen your kind before, but you're kinda similar to what I've seen though..."

Deku Link: "You're pretty strange, sir."

Deku Mario: "I'm strange? I'm not the one running around in a skirt, kid."

Deku Link: "Hey, it's not a skirt! It's a tunic! If someone's wearing strange, it's you."

Deku Mario: "Never seen an overalls, kid!?"

Deku Link: "I have, but not with a wacky hat like that!"

Deku Mario: *Gazing at him very closely* "...Do you have a problem with my hat, skirtboy..."

Deku Link: "What if I am, mustache moron..."

Yellow Fairy: "ENOUGH!!!!!!!!"

Deku Mario, Deku Link: *Looking at the Yellow Fairy*

Yellow Fairy: "Look, that you can't get along, not my problem. But I still have to go to my brother!"

Deku Mario: "Oh yeah, I forgot-a."

Deku Link: "I forgot that I became a Deku Scrub..."

Deku Mario: "Wait, aren't we Snifits?"

Deku Link: "What the heck are Snifits? We are turned in De-ku Scrubs!"

Deku Mario: "What are Deku Scrubs...?"

Deku Link: *Getting angry* WHAT WE ARE NOW, YOU DOUCHÉ!"

Deku Mario: Hey, don't yell at me!"

Yellow Fairy: *Getting fed up* STOP IT, DAMMIT!!!"

Deku Link: *Pointing at Deku Mario* "...He started it!"

Yellow Fairy: "Who cares!? You wanna know about that Skull Kid who just ran off, right? Well I just so happen to have an idea of where he might be going."

Deku Link: "Well, you'd better. I have to get back my ocarina he stole from me."

Deku Mario: "Yeah, and my whistle too."

Yellow Fairy: I know, I know. Take me with you and I'll help you out. Deal?"

Deku Mario: "Well, I don't know..."

Yellow Fairy: "Please?"

Deku Link: "Well..."

Yellow Fairy: GOOD! Now then it's settled!"

Deku Mario, Deku Link: "Huh?"

Yellow Fairy: "Now then, I'll be your partner...or at least until we catch that Skull Kid."

Deku Link: "Oh well, it's temporarily anyway."

Deku Mario: "Our partner, eh? Well, I'm pretty used to that...oh wait, do you have a name, little fairy?"

Yellow Fairy: "My name's Tatl. So, uh, it's nice to meet you or whatever."

Deku Mario: *Thinking* "Mama-mia, she reminds me of Lady Bow and Starlow. Only difference is that this fairy is more hostile, but straightforward."

Deku Link: "Likewise, Tatl. I am Link."

Deku Mario: "And it's-a me, Mario. or so to speak, Dequ Mario for now."

Deku Link: *Annoyed* "It's pronounced with a 'K', De-qu Ma-ri-o..."

Deku Mario: *Annoyed* "Stop talking in syllables...!"

Tatl: *Interrupts immediately* "Aaanyway...now that we have got all that straightened out, can we stop messing around and get moving? Well if you need some help or if I figure something out, call me and I'll tell it to you..."

Deku Mario and Deku Link shrug to eachother and they've settled to work together in order to find Skull Kid who stole their items and to reunite Tatl with her younger brother Tael.

Deku Mario: *Thinking* "Just like-a the old days...with Goombario, Goombella and the last time with Tippi...no wait. Lady Timpani..."

Tatl: "...Hopefully you'll manage to get by without my help until then."

Deku Link: "Yeah, yeah, we get the point. Don't hold your breath."

Tatl: *Not amused* "Ungrateful..."

Deku Mario: *Thinking* "Oh boy, here we go again! Another unwanted adventure...with strange beings here, in a strange place, in a strange transformation or curse...sigh..."
